Ol Donyo Sabuk National Park is located only 65 kilometers (40 mile) away from Nairobi City. Ol Donyo Sabuk means large mountain in the Masai language and The Mountain of Buffalos in Kikuyu language. It is a solitary mountain rising to 2,145 meters (7,037 feet) from an otherwise flat area.) It covers an area of about 20sq km with a lush vegetation and forest cover.

It is home to large herds of buffaloes, Baboons, Leopards, Monkeys among other.

  • The tour gives you an amazing view of Nairobi City, the snow-capped peaks of both Mt Kenya and Mt Kilimanjaro, Thika Town and the pineapple fields among other scenery.
  • Mountain climbing, Bird and wildlife watching are some of the activities you can undertake while on the tour.
  • A visit to the Fourteen Falls gives you an opportunity to witness the beauty of the waterfall.
  • It also has site to the grave of Sir William Northrup McMillan, an American farmer who settled in the area in 1905.


  • The Tour starts in the morning at 0800hrs from your location.
  • Drive to the Pick of the mountain with stops at different points to view wildlife and the scenary
  • A picnic lunch will be provided by the Crocodile Racers at the base of Oldonyo Sabuk picnic site.
  • On your way back, pass by the famous Fourteen Falls before your return to Nairobi expected time of arrival is 1800 hours.
  • Refreshments will be provided.


  • As a general guide, comfortable casual wash and wear clothes are recommended. Muted colours are recommended for game-viewing. Khaki, green, beige and neutral colours (dark blue and black should be avoided, as it attracts Tsetse flies)
  • Shirts with long sleeves are advised (even in summer, as protection from the sun, mosquitoes and Tsetse flies)
  • Comfortable walking pair of shoes
