2 Days/ 1 Night Meru National Park Flying Safari from Nairobi is a short flying vacation to Meru National Park in the heart of Kenya.

Meru National Park was made famous through the book and film Born Free based on George and Joy Adamson’s work releasing hand raised Lions back into the wild. The park is small by Kenyan standards but is home to a diverse array of wildlife.

Meru National Park is wild and beautiful. Straddling the equator and bisected by 13 rivers and numerous mountain-fed streams. It is an especially beautiful area of Kenya with diverse scenery from woodlands at 2000 feet 600 meters on the slopes of the Nyambeni Mountain Range north east of Mount Kenya to wide open plains with meandering riverbanks dotted with doum palms.

The park is also noted for the diversity of species which occur. You should have good sightings of Eland, Grevy’s zebra, Gerenuk, Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, and Lesser Kudu.

You may be lucky enough to see Cheetah and Leopard. Lion are present but are not as easy to spot as in other areas of Kenya. The Tana River is a good spot to see schools of Hippo.

Part of the reserve has been fenced off to create a sanctuary for 40 White Rhino and 20 Black Rhino, making this one of the best places in Kenya to see these endangered animals.

Activities include: game viewing fishing bird walking biking hiking and boat rafting.
