5 Days/ 4 Nights Aberdare – Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara Safari is a 5 Day adventure that is very popular. This Safari includes a visit to the following National Parks: Aberdare National Park or the Mount Kenya National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park and famous Masai Mara Game Reserve.                                                     


Aberdare National Park;

The safari begins from Nairobi and travels to the Aberdare National Park with Mountain ranges and peaks soaring to around 14,000 ft. giving way to deep V-shaped valleys with streams and rivers cascading over spectacular waterfalls – this area is a must for landscape lovers.

The Treetops Lodge(a tree house) where Queen Elizabeth II ascended as a princess and descended as a queen is in Mt Kenya National Park whereas a similar Tree House (The Ark Lodge) in The Aberdare National Park.

Wildlife can be observed from different levels – from outside where you can see, hear and smell everything and inside where you can sit with a cup of tea and stay warm and cozy.

You can put in a request to be awakened during the night if your favorite animals show up. A herd of Elephants might be just feet away and if you are lucky, a Leopard or large male Lion might put in an appearance.


Lake Nakuru National Park;

Lake Nakuru National Park is famous for the Pink Flamingoes that line the shores of the Lake in their large numbers. The Black and white Rhinos are mainly found here among many other animals and birds.


Masai Mara National Park;

The Masai Mara National Park is the jewel in tourism in the country. Famous for the annual Wildebeest migration a spectacle caused by thousands of wildebeests and zebras crossing the Mara river from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania into Masai Mara with predators hot on their heels. The park is home to many other animals and birds.

  • Twenty seven percent (27%) of the park is composed of the Lake Nakuru waters. The park was declared a rhino sanctuary in 1983. The Rhino stocking programme which ensued received white rhinos from South Africa. Currently the sanctuary has approximately 45 black and 31 white Rhinoceros.
  • In the Masai Mara, game viewing is the epic fun and the reason for the safari you are therefore given 2 game drives every day (morning and afternoon) to make sure you have enough quality time with nature in the wild.

Day 1: Nairobi – Drive to Aberdare National Park (Forest Tree Lodge)

  • We depart from Nairobi after breakfast .Our destination today is the Aberdare National Park/Mt Kenya National Park. On our way we will have a brief stop at the view point to see the Great Rift Valley from the top of the escapement. We stop for lunch at The Aberdare Country Club, nestled on the slopes of Mweiga Hill.
  • After high lunch, set off for the Ark tree lodge, located in the forest on mountain slopes of the Aberdare Mountains at 7,000 feet. This outstanding lodge offers high altitude game viewing, including animals that are rarely encountered elsewhere: Giant forest hog, Bush Pig, Tree Hyrax, Large Spotted Genet, and the elusive Bongo Antelope.
  • Overnight at the Ark or Treetops Lodge or the Serena Mountain Lodge or the Treetops Lodge.

Day 2: Aberdare (Forest Tree Lodge) – Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park

  • This morning we depart from Aberdare National Park or Mount Kenya National Park by road and proceed to Lake Nakuru Park, regarded by avid birders’ as the greatest World ornithological spectacle on the Earth. The Park is famous for its millions of pink flamingoes lining on the lake shore.
  • We arrive mid-morning at Lake Nakuru for a game drive en route before checking-in at your lodge for Lunch. A spectacular afternoon game run is planned. The Park is also Sanctuary to the Black Rhino, White Rhino and the Rothschild Giraffe.
  • Bird life include common species like the lesser and Greater Flamingoes, African fish Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Green Wood Hoopoes, Cliff Chat, Great White and Pink Backed Pelicans plus other intra- African Migrants.
  • Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge or Sarova Lion Hill Lodge

Day 3: Lake Nakuru – Drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve

  • After a leisure breakfast at your Hotel, depart overland to the Masai Mara Game Reservejewel of Kenya’s Game Park. We arrive at the lodge in time for Lunch.
  • After lunch you will have a rest until late afternoon for an afternoon game drive.
  • This enormous Reserve actually part of the vast Serengeti plains is famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and is a true home of the big five-Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Cape Buffalo. After lunch, explore the Reserve on a late evening game drive.
  • Dinner and overnight at either Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp or Mara Serena Lodge.

Day 4: Explore Masai Mara Game Reserve

  • The Masai Mara is one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Morning game drive is planned to give you enough time to enjoy and capture as many moments as you can with breakfast in the bush. Drive back to the lodge for lunch.
  • In the afternoon you have an opportunity to decide on what activities you would like to undertake. Either a visit to the Masai village or a sundowner or a bush dinner can be arranged on request or an afternoon game drive.
  • Dinner and overnight at either Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp or Mara Serena Lodge.

Day 5: Masai Mara – Drive to Nairobi

  • We begin today with an early morning game drive followed by a complete English breakfast at your lodge and then proceed for Nairobi.
